Dragi Zekavica is a fearless legal advocate who specializes in defending breaches of an individual’s constitutional rights with more than 40 years experience battling against institutional abuses and in defense of human rights before the trial and appeal courts of the province of Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. He holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Queens University and is fluent in English, Bosnian, Croatian and Macedonian.
Many of Dragi’s cases have resulted in precedential rulings, which are reported and published. As one of the most prominent legal reformers in Canada, Dragi’s commitment to conflict resolution and social improvement through cooperative efforts is unwavering as is his belief in a cooperative process that leads to peace and development.
Currently on the Board of Directors of the International Peace Festival serving in a leadership role as Director, Legal & Business Affairs, Dragi is instrumental in developing the organization’s policies on social and cultural-specific issues, corporate governance and regulatory affairs. He is instrumental in driving growth while consulting with management and commercial advisors.
